Famous the world over for it's sherry, Jerez de la Frontera is a popular tourist destination located in an ideal position eighty kilometres south of Seville and forty kilometres north of Cadiz.  Perched close to the Atlantic coast of Spain, Jerez is a cultural centre for the surrounding region and attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists each year, all hoping to soak up the traditional Spanish atmosphere.  Flamenco and Spanish equestrian events are held the year round in Jerez de la Frontera, whilst sherry and wine tasting is possible at a huge number of cafés, bars and cellar doors.  The region has a strong Moorish heritage with beautiful baths that are still open to the public.  Christianity too has left it's mark on the area, with the remarkable Jerez de la Frontera Cathedral foremost on tourist's sightseeing lists.

Jerez de la Frontera is serviced by a single international airport, Aeropuerto de Jerez (Jerez Airport).  Although not large it has seen huge increases in passenger numbers in recent years and has become a centre for low-cost airlines such as Ryan Air.  Two routes from the United Kingdom to Jerez are covered: Thomas Cook flies the route between Jerez and Manchester, whilst Ryan Air covers London-Stansted.  Many other airlines fly routes within Europe.  There are several car rental facilities at the airport, including Avis, Auriga Crown, Hertz and Europcar.  The airport is located approximately seven kilometres to the north-east of Jerez off of the Autovia del Sur (A4).
